Monument to the Party Founding

Man walking past the Monument to the Party Founding, Pyongyang, North Korea, February 2017.

The monument was erected in Juche 84 (1995) to commemorate the founding of the Workers' Party of Korea. The Juche calendar is used instead of the Gregorian calendar and named after the Juche ideology of the Workers Party. More on the Juche Ideology will follow.
The round belt with the inscription symbolizes the single-hearted unity of leader, party and people. The hammer stands for the workers, the sickle for the farmers and the brush for the intellectuals. The red buildings with the letters on top form the word "ever-victorious" and symbolize red flags.

The organizers of the victory of the Korean people and the leader of the Workers Party of Korea!
